Additional Antisera for use with SPIFE ImmunoFix

Additional Antisera for use with SPIFE ImmunoFixCat. No. Item Description 9409 IFE Antiserum to IgD 1 x 1 mL 9410 IFE Antiserum to IgE 1 x 1 mL 9412 IFE Free Kappa Antiserum 1 x 1 mL 9413 IFE Free Lambda Antiserum 1 x 1 mL
When performing IFE, if a reaction occurs with Kappa or Lambda but there's no reaction with IgG, IgA or IgM heavy chains, the sample should be tested with IgD and IgE antisera. A reaction indicates an IgD or IgE monoclonal gammopathy. A light chain reaction with no IgD or IgE reaction indicates Free Light Chain Disease.For use with serum or urine, the Free Kappa and Lambda Antisera are specific for free kappa and free lambda light chains respectively, reacting only with free light chains not attached to the heavy chain portion of the molecule.
ImmunoFix Quality Control
ImmunoFix Quality Control
| Cat. No. | Item | Description |
| 9400 | ImmunoFix Control Kit | 1 x 0.5 mL IgG Kappa Control |
| 1 x 0.5 mL IgA Lambda Control | ||
| 1 x 0.5 mL IgM Control |
ImmunoFix Controls are used to confirm antisera reactivity. After electrophoresis, the appropriate control is applied to a well at the end of each channel on the gel. Precipitin rings form around wells, indicating proper antigen/antibody reactions. Controls can also be treated as a patient sample to verify all phases of IFE procedure.
An Immunofixation Tutorial
This guide is intended as a primer to the use and interpretation of immunofixation for characterizing monoclonal proteins (M-proteins) in human serum and urine. It contains examples of common and MGUS patterns, as well as those with complex, multiple proteins and light chains. Suggestions for follow-up testing and interpretive comments are included.
